Art in the Park

Starved Rock Lodge’s Art in the Park Exhibit is the largest collection of chainsaw woodcarvings in the Midwest. The centerpiece of the exhibit is the large Native American Indian head in front of the Lodge – entitled Chief Walks with the Wind. This carving is a tribute to honor Same Sine. Burgoo Festival

The Burgoo Festival is sponsored by LaSalle County Historical Society. What is BURGOO? It’s a delicious stew that cooks for many hours (ask the Burgoo Master). Visitors are invited to stir the Burgoo and taste it, too! Come and explore the town that was once called SCIENCE!
