A winding, paved walkway, bordered by several natural stone benches leads you and your guests to the ceremony site. Once you enter the Courtyard, flagstone steps lead to an elevated stone terrace featuring antique lighting, where your guests will be seated among nature’s beauty as they share in your special moment.
In the event of inclement weather, your ceremony will take place in the charming and rustic Canyonside Cabin before a cozy log-and-stone fireplace.

Brides & Grooms rent a Starved Rock Trolley for a few great reasons. The main reason is because it’s so much fun! If you want to shuttle your guests from a nearby hotel or offer them a tour of the area, there’s no better way to do it! Our trolleys are also available to get you to the church on time! Our friendly drivers let you relax and enjoy your day so you don’t have to worry about transportation for you and your guests. Leave the driving to us!
If you’re having a dream wedding at the Lodge, our trolleys (Bella & Ranger) are an excellent way to take the entire wedding party on a photo shoot. The trolley will drop you off at the closest access point for the trail to St. Louis Canyon, an excellent place for photos. In the spring of 2013, an ecological restoration project allowed for all the unnecessary trees and brush to be removed from the West Bluff. Now, this is a beautiful place for a group photo.
Our official wedding trolley is Bella. Complete with a Conductor’s Platform, this trolley adds so much to your wedding day and your wedding photos. Plus, it allows everyone in the bridal party to be together for this special occasion.
You can also reserve a trolley for yourself, your family, a group Day Trip, a Public Trolley Tour or a Special Event rental. Seasonal tours are offered by Starved Rock Lodge. These tours include lunch in the historic Main Dining Room. In the winter, guests enjoy our “Discover the Eagle” tours, in spring, it’s Waterfall & Canyon Tours. Autumn is our most popular tour season with our Fall Colors Trolley Tour. Each Sunday, historic Trolley Tours depart at Noon and 1:30 pm. These tours do not include lunch. They are, however, the best way to learn about the rich history of the Starved Rock Area. Click HERE for details, times and prices.
