Starved Rock State Park is one of the best destinations for hiking in the Midwest. We know that our guests love to come here to see the natural beauty of the park, but there’s so much more to see and do. If you’ve never been here before, we suggest a guided hike and a Historic Trolley Tour. We other seasonal Trolley Tours, musical tribute shows and many fun activities and events, many of which are free of charge. Starved Rock Lodge and State Park attracts over two million visitors each year. Come and explore this jewel in the crown of LaSalle County!

Saturday & Sundays. 11am-2pm. $18 per person Participants meet in the hotel main lobby of the Lodge to pick up a lunch and a “Starved Rock” backpack. Hikers will stop for lunch once they reach a Canyon. The tour concludes at the Lodge about 2:00pm. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. Hike will be around 4.5 miles round trip. Meet Andre’ St. Pierre, 18th Century French – Indian fur trader. History has never been so much fun! Andre will present an entertaining and educational look at the French fur traders and the native tribes they lived and worked with. Andre’ is a character developed by Andy Talley. He has delighted and educated audiences throughout the Midwest with his portrayal of our fur trade era. This event will be held at the Starved Rock Visitors Center!

Offered: in April & May (Monday & Saturday) Ticket Price: $32 for adults, $27 children (10 and under). Mondays:  11am-3pm. Saturdays:  9am-1pm & 11am-3pm Experience the fun of outdoors adventure at Starved Rock State Park with a guided walk to 3 spectacular waterfalls and canyons. We will plan to visit French, St. Louis and Ottawa Canyons. The tour will also include hot lunch in The Main Dining Room and a relaxing trolley ride. Every Thursday (year round) Join the fun on our weekly, guided hikes! Explore Starved Rock State Park, Matthiessen State Park, the I & M Canal and a nearby Nature Preserve. Every Thursday morning, year round, the Starved Rock Walkers Club  meets in the lobby of the Lodge and departs at 9:00 am. Hikes last between 2 and 3 hours, depending on the destination. The hikes vary each week and over a 4-month period, the group will see the entire park.  Make some new friends and learn about wildlife, wildflowers and more.
