Art in the Park eagles nest
Art in the Park is a collection of over 30 pieces of art (mostly woodcarvings and several bronze sculptures) at Starved Rock Lodge and State Park. We just added a NEW, 12′ totem of manufactured steel by sculptor Michael Jones. Click HERE to see more about that! The new steel totem is located in front of the Hotel entrance. Self-guided tours take about 30-minutes. A brochure, with a map of the “Art in the Park” collection, is available at the Hotel Front Desk, in the Great Hall and at Trailheads Concessions in the Visitor Center.The first piece of “public art” in the collection at Starved Rock Lodge is also the largest. Offered: in April & May (Monday & Saturday) Ticket Price: $32 for adults, $27 children (10 and under). Experience the fun of outdoor adventure at Starved Rock State Park with a guided walk to 3 spectacular waterfalls and canyons. We will hike to French and St. Louis Canyons as well as Ottawa Canyon. The tour will also include your selection from our SPECIAL LUNCH MENU and a relaxing, historic trolley ride. This is a walking tour and is not recommended for individual with limited mobility.  Guided hikes with lunch are offered by Starved Rock Lodge on Saturdays and Sundays from April through November. Join us for a guided hike from the Lodge to LaSalle and Tonti Canyons. In our opinion, this is the BEST way to see Starved Rock State Park! Participants meet in the Hotel Lobby to pick up a lunch and a souvenir  “Starved Rock” backpack. Our friendly guides from Starved Rock Lodge will share their knowledge of Starved Rock State Park (named a National Historic Landmark in 1960) and Starved Rock Lodge (named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985). AUTUMN TROLLEY RIDE
Price: $12.00 per adult/$10.00 senior/$8.00 children under 10 There are two tours: 12:00 pm-1:30 pm & 1:30 pm-3:00 pm. (Due to the Burgoo Festival in Utica, there will be NO Historic Trolley Tours on Sunday, October 13, 2013). Board a trolley outside of the Great Hall area of the Lodge. Enjoy a historic trolley ride with stops at the Starved Rock State Park Visitor Center where you will see a short video of the area. You will also travel to the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center where you will see Starved Rock from across the river and watch as the river traffic lock through the locks.
