Starved Rock State Park is one of the best destinations for hiking in the Midwest. We know that our guests love to come here to see the natural beauty of the park, but there’s so much more to see and do. If you’ve never been here before, we suggest a guided hike and a Historic Trolley Tour. We offer seasonal Trolley Tours, musical tribute shows and many fun activities and events, many of which are free of charge. Starved Rock Lodge and State Park attract over two million visitors each year. Come and explore this jewel in the crown of LaSalle County!

Every Thursday (year round) Join the fun on our weekly, guided hikes! Explore Starved Rock State Park, Matthiessen State Park, the I & M Canal and a nearby Nature Preserve. Every Thursday morning, year round, the Starved Rock Walkers Club meets in the lobby of the Lodge and departs at 9am. Hikes last between 2 and 3 hours, depending on the destination. The hikes vary each week and over a 4-month period, the group will see the entire park. Make some new friends and learn about wildlife, wildflowers and more. BELLE OF THE ROCK
June – September Mondays & Thursdays 5pm-8pm $38.50/person Join us for a cruise aboard Belle of the Rock. This tour is offered every Monday & Thursday evening  from June-September. Tour includes a Trolley Shuttle to and from the boat. The boat ride is a relaxing, scenic hour-and-a-half cruise on the Belle of the Rock paddle wheel boat. The tour concludes with dinner from our special dinner menu with dessert. What could be better than an evening of friends, wine, and art with YOU as the artist? Enjoy a relaxed painting session with family and friends, or come alone and meet new people. No painting experience necessary. Evening includes: all of the painting materials you will need, a glass of wine and snacks. Everyone will finish a painting to take home. If you’re part of a guided hike in the spring or early summer, there is a good possibility you will be able to see waterfalls as they are seasonal.
