Matinee Show on March 31, 2013
After a delicious Hot Lunch Buffet, sit back and enjoy this full-length, two-act musical experience. This show has its origins in the vernacular translation of the book of Matthew, authored by Koinonia Farms founder Dr. Clarence Jordan. Actor playwright Tom Key, inspired by Dr. Jordan’s writing, further developed the story of how Joe Davidson and Mary Hagler raised the most miraculous human ever to be born in Gainesville, Georgia (Jesus). After hearing the original one-man show, renowned singer/songwriter Harry Chapin was inspired tow rite music and lyrics and turned the show into a toe-tapping musical. Phil Kaufman is taking the show back to its one-man roots with Harry Chapin’s music for a one-of-a-kind show. Phil has finally figured out how to play more than two instruments at one time and he himself plays over 20 characters in the production. “Phil Kaufman is donating his performance, and Starved Rock Lodge has covered licensing and fess so that 100% of the show proceeds go to organizations addressing local and world hunger.”
