Starved Rock Lodge offers a calendar of fun things to do throughout the year.  Starved Rock State Park is one of the best places in Illinois to go hiking. We offer seasonal and historic Trolley Tours, guided hikes, musical tribute shows and more.

FALCONER RICH ESCUTIA 2013
Unexpected fun on the Veranda! Join us from Noon-2:00 p.m., when Certified Falconer, Rich Escutia, opens our eyes to the art and science of falconry.  Rich will be bringing along his hawks to help inform us and demonstrate how these magnificent birds survive. This is a great opportunity to get a little closer to a bird of prey and admire its beauty and skill.  Falconry on the Fly will be present on: July 21 & 22 and July 28 & 29. BELLE OF THE ROCK
Join us for a cruise aboard Belle of the Rock. This tour is offered every Monday & Thursday evening  from June-September. Tour includes a Trolley Shuttle to and from the boat.  The boat ride is a relaxing, scenic hour-and-a-half cruise on the Belle of the Rock paddle wheel boat. C’mon aboard our Music of the River Cruise and Tour! Offered every Tuesday from June through September.  Meet us in Starved Rock Lodge’s Great Hall for check in and to receive your boxed lunch.  Then, board our trolley and travel a short distance to the Belle of the Rock, an authentic paddle wheel boat.  Aboard the boat you will hear and enjoy the history of many river songs, such as Proud Mary, Gentle on My Mind, Alabama’s Tennessee River and Credence Clearwater Revival’s Green River.  After the 1-½ hour lunch cruise you will re-board the trolley for a historic tour with stops at the State Park Visitor Center and the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center. Wilderness Wednesday take place every Wednesday at 3:00 pm from June 4 –August 27. Join the fun at FOX RIDGE (located directly across from the main steps of Starved Rock Lodge)! This weekly nature education program is suited for all ages. Each week, a guest presenter will introduce participants to a new nature topic.
