Starved Rock Foundation Hosts Family Friendly Programs

A wildlife DVD series will kick off Starved Rock Foundation’s Saturday family sessions this weekend.Programs will begin Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fort St. Louis de Illinois Visitor Center in Starved Rock State Park near Utica. A new sculpture towering 12’ was recently added to the “Art in the Park” collection at Starved Rock Lodge. Earlier this year, Lodge CEO Terry Cross met sculptor Michael Jones at an art show in Arizona. Starved Rock State Park has won the “Fan Favorite Sweepstakes” sponsored by the Illinois Office of Tourism. Starved Rock steadily topped a long list of familiar tourist sites throughout the online contest, which recently narrowed the field to two.
