Starved Rock Lodge is in the process of replacing all Lodge wing, Hotel wing and pool windows. The current windows were installed in the 1980’s and when they were ordered, they were the wrong size – hence the extra boards around the windows. We are returning them to the original size and adding the muntins back in – this is the lattice or grill work that gives them the appearance of being several panes.
The current windows are wood and are quite rotten – they even fall out at times. The new windows are vinyl clad on the outside and wood on the inside. They have been approved by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency and will last longer and will not fade.
