A Note from the CEO (July 1, 2020)
Happy Phase 4! We are so happy to be open and welcome guests back to the Lodge and to the Main Dining Room. Our staff is continuing to work hard to make sure you have a fun and healthy visit.
As a reminder, Illinois is still under a mandate to wear masks. We kindly ask that you take this seriously. Our staff will be wearing masks to protect you and we ask that you take the same courtesy to protect us. We encounter thousands of people each day and are obviously concerned about our health as well as yours. Masks are required in ALL public areas, hallways, bathrooms, gift shops, lobbies etc. The Great Hall has been set up for social distancing so feel free to pick a corner and socialize with your own group but when in the presence of others PLEASE wear your masks.
The park has been very busy since opening in late March and we would like to suggest that if you are able to travel during the week it may be more pleasurable. This allows you a little more freedom to get out and explore the trails without having to share them with tens of thousands of day hikers. We’re happy to bring back guided hikes and river cruises. Capacity is limited and reservations are necessary, but these are great ways to experience the park while you’re here.
We also highly recommend reservations for the Main Dining Room. Seating is very limited and we want to make sure you have an opportunity to enjoy one of our delicious meals while you visit. Dining is available on the outdoor veranda and in the bar.
One other note regarding housekeeping. For your safety, rooms will only be cleaned upon check out. Also, we have removed a lot of “touchy feely” things from the rooms. If you need something, please call or visit the front desk.
