Remember back on January 27 (4 months ago) when it was freezing cold and we asked you to submit your best slogan idea for Starved Rock Lodge’s next winter advertising campaign? Today, we are happy to announce that the winning entry was submitted by Phil Voth. His slogan: “Use Your Yaks to Make Some Tracks!” We’ll be working on incorporating his slogan into our upcoming marketing plans. Click here to see all the entries in the contest.
An Honorable Mention for Best Photo was awarded to Steve Stout for his “Of Ice & Men” photo. “Starved Rock State Park is a ice climber’s dream come true in the winter months,” said Stout.
An Honorable Mention for the Runner-up Slogan was awarded to Elizabeth Radtke for her slogan Love at The Lodge—Wedding “Wows” in Wintertime. “My husband and I were married at the Ottawa Courthouse on January 7, 2005,” said Ratdke, “To celebrate this event, we spent the afternoon at Starved Rock Lodge for food and drinks. It was a quiet afternoon at the Lodge with just us, our two attendants and another couple we did not know but were included in our wedding photos. We had so much fun and wouldn’t trade that day for anything in this world. We celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary this year.”
Thanks to everyone who entered. We’ll be using many of your entries for upcoming social media posts once the snow begins to fly. Let’s hope that is a long way off.
