New this fall, is “Yoga & Hike” which features a 75-minute yoga class and a 3 mile hike to scenic St. Louis Canyon. Yoga and Hike. Depart on September 25 with Matt Hancock. Matt has taught over 11,000 classes and is the owner of Hancock PowerFit Yoga (a yoga practice that’s focused on building the body’s strength and increasing endurance). Reservation required.
Trolley Tours are offered each weekend, but pairing this tour with lunch and a river cruise is even better. There’s even a combo tour that includes a guided hike to see Council Overhang and Ottawa Canyon followed by a boat ride on the Illinois River. Fall Colors Trolley Tours and Autumn on the River Cruises are offered in October. Guided Hikes (with a backpack lunch) are offered year ‘round.
The historic Great Hall comes alive each year when German music from the Duseldorfers Band fills the air at the Oktoberfest Dinner (October 16) and Matinees (October 24 and 25). The menu features German favorites from Schnitzel to Strudel as well as German wine and beer. Music lovers won’t want to miss “The Chairman’s Board” Tribute to the Stars Matinee (October 17 & 18) starring Tribute artist Peter Oprisko. Tickets are $45 each and include a hot lunch buffet. The WWII Radio Show featuring songs from the Andrews Sisters is set for November 14 and 15. Tickets are $55 per person.
