There’s something for everyone at Starved Rock Lodge. Check out what’s coming up in March. Rock Star competition continues in the Main Dining Room on Wednesday nights, starting at 7pm. The doors open at 5pm, so come early and get a good seat. Contestants will perform their choice of an 80’s hit on March 1st. The audience votes for their Fan Favorite and that singer wins $100 each week. Semi-finals are on March 8th. Finals night is March 15th. Admission is free, no reservations needed.

Starved Rock’s Chef Ian Pries and the culinary team will prepare a 4-course meal for our Spring Wine Dinner on Saturday, March 11th, featuring August Hill Winery. Each part of this dining experience is perfectly paired with wine that will inspire you for the season ahead. Reservations are required.

Hungry for a great meal? Enjoy the Surf & Turf Special every Friday night in the Main Dining Room. There’s a Prime Rib Special every Saturday night (5-9pm). Sunday Brunch runs from 10:30am to 2pm every Sunday. The Dining Room is open daily with a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Rosie & the Rivets will perform in a “Tribute to the Stars” Matinee on March 6th and 7th. You’ll be impressed with their powerhouse vocals in this wildly entertaining musical comedy experience. The Rivets will sing danceable music from the 1950s and early ‘60s along with some current hits with a retro twist. “Simply Patsy” Matinees are set for March 27th and 28th. All matinees include a hot lunch buffet. Mary Pfeifer will bring back memories of your favorite Patsy Cline songs. Mary is also the lead singer of “Mary and the Troublemakers” evening show on March 27th. This show includes a dinner buffet. Tickets are $50 per person. Reservations are required.

Guided Winter Hike are offered on Saturdays & Sundays from 10am-1pm. Tickets are $18.00 per person.

Participants meet in the hotel lobby of the Lodge to pick up a snack and a “Starved Rock” backpack. The tour concludes at the Lodge about 1:00 pm. Hikes are about 3 miles round trip. Remember to bring your binoculars and cameras to look for bald eagles in flight. A snack, bottled water, “Starved Rock” backpack and voucher for small hot chocolate or coffee in our café upon your return are included. Advanced reservations are required.

Winter Wildlife Trolley Tour run through March 26th on Saturdays and Sundays. There are two departure times: 11am-1pm & 1pm-3pm. This tour begins with a narrated trolley ride to see our winter wildlife in their natural habitat! Tour will depart from the Lodge and take you on a tour through Buffalo Rock State Park to visit our resident Bison! Travel to the IL Waterway Visitors Center observation deck to see if we can spot an Eagle or two! We will also travel to some other areas that are known for Bald Eagle sightings! The trolley will be narrated with history and legends of the area and the park as well. Guests will receive a sack lunch as upon boarding the trolley. Lunch will include: turkey or veggie wrap, bag of chips, granola bar, piece of fruit and a bottle of water. No restrooms will be available on the tour. 

The Lodge is accepting reservations for “Breakfast with the Bunny” on April 1st, the Easter Buffet on April 9th and Mother’s Day on May 14th. Reservations are required.
