We had a mild winter and warm temps make us think about spring! Starved Rock Lodge has a calendar of fun events waiting for anyone who wants a getaway that’s close to home but worlds away! Located in Oglesby, IL, Starved Rock is just over an hour away from most Chicagoland and Rockford locations. It’s the perfect place to spend Spring Break. We have an indoor pool, a gated, toddler pool, plus hot tub and saunas. So, don’t forget to pack swimwear.

A Whiskey Dinner, featuring Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey, will take place on Sunday, March 24th in the Starved Rock Room from 6-9PM. The dinner will consist of a whiskey cocktails, tastings and a 5-course meal, infused with Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey. The guest speaker, Kody Langeland, will share the story of how this brand got its name and how US Army Green Berets answered America’s call days after 9/11 with a daring mission on horseback into northern Afghanistan. Starved Rock Lodge’s Executive Chef, Charlie Klinefelter, will share insight on why he chose the pairings and how the evening meal was prepared.  All courses will also be accompanied with a Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey cocktail or sample of the paired whiskey. There will also be a Cash Bar available with a variety of select, featured cocktails. Tickets are $90 per person. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend. Online bookings are subject to additional fees and taxes.

Matt Hancock will lead a Yoga & Hike event on Sunday, April 7th at 10AM. He has taught over 11,000 classes and is the owner of Hancock PowerFit Yoga (a yoga practice that’s focused on building the body’s strength and increasing endurance). Through a series of yoga flows, you’ll learn to focus on the transition of poses in a fast or slower-paced environment. PowerFit Yoga puts an emphasis on linking your body’s motion and breathing to create a cohesive balance. This event features a 75 minute yoga class and a three-mile hike to St. Louis Canyon. Tickets are $40 per person. Reservations are required.

“Are You Ready For it? A Taylor Experience!” is set for Sunday, April 14th, at 3PM in the Great Hall. Paying tribute to one of the most iconic pop stars of the decade, “Are You Ready for It? A Taylor Experience,” captivates Swifties of all ages with a live band show filled with Taylor’s best hits! Tribute Artist Traci has been a professional singer/performer for over a decade and has had the opportunity to open for national touring artists and even sing backing vocals for Felix Cavaliere, (The Rascals). She is backed by an incredible band, (including her husband), that have decades of music experience together. Expect to see “sparks fly” on stage as they recreate hit after hit from Taylor’s iconic Eras Tour! A meal included after the performance. Guests will have a chance to meet and take photos with the tribute artist. Tickets are $60 per person. Reservations are required.

Trolley Trio Progressive Dinners are a fun way to enjoy food and drinks at three local attractions. New dates have been added since all posted dates have already sold out! Choose the date that works for you:  February 5, March 20 or 21, April 11 or 25. Hop on board the Starved Rock Lodge Trolley and let us do the driving. The first stop is at August Hill Winery where a flight of wine, including one from Illinois Sparkling Company, will be paired with small-bite appetizers. Next, the Trolley will travel to Camp Aramoni’s Bricks & Stones event space for cocktails and a 3-course small-bite tasting experience. The evening will conclude with mini-after-dinner drinks which are paired with 3 tasty desserts. Guests must be 21 or older to attend. Reservations are required.

If you’d like to spend an afternoon enjoying live music, then the Ukulele Moonshiners Show is for you! Choose March 25th or 26th to experience where this 4-piece musical ensemble will entertain you with great songs and funny stories. Each member of the band plays an instrument and sings. You’ll want to sing along and maybe get up and dance! Tickets are $60 per person. A hot lunch buffet included with all matinees. Reservations are required.

Historic Trolley Tours of the Starved Rock area start again in April. Learn about the rich history of LaSalle County when you board the trolley on Monday, Wednesday or Saturday at 3PM or board any Sunday at noon or 1:30PM.
