Enjoy the crisp days of fall at Starved Rock Lodge! Book an overnight package to make the most of your adventure, where you can take in a sunrise or applaud a sunset. Overnight guests at the Lodge receive free parking, an indoor pool and 13 miles of hiking trails.
The Illinois River is the setting for the Sunset Cruise on the Sainte Genevieve Riverboat. Offered every Thursday in October. Guests board the trolley at the Lodge for a 3:45pm departure. After the cruise, the trolley returns to the Lodge for dinner in the historic Main Dining Room. Reservations are required. Tickets are $75 per adult ($65 children).
Every Saturday night, delicious Prime Rib (that’s locally sourced) is available in the Main Dining Room. It’s seasoned with a “secret spice” rub and smoked at the Lodge that day. Sunday Brunch (10am-2pm) offers a wide variety of choices to everyone in your group.
Trolley Tours are offered each weekend. Fall Colors Trolley Tours run on select Saturdays & Tuesdays. Autumn on the River Cruise depart every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in October. There’s even a combo tour that includes a guided hike to St. Louis Canyon followed by a boat ride on the Illinois River (Sunday only). For a shorter, 1-hour cruise, the Waterfowl Tour on the Eagle 1 is the best choice (offered Saturday and Sunday with 1 and 2pm departures). Guided Hikes (with a backpack lunch) are offered each weekend. Historic Trolley Tours depart at 3pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday or Sundays at noon and 1:30pm.
The historic Great Hall comes alive in October when the Duseldorfers Band fills the air at the Lodge’s Oktoberfest Dinner (October 20) and Matinees on October 21 & 22. The menu features German favorites from Schnitzel to Strudel as well as German wine and beer. Guests can choose the full buffet, tastings, plus a souvenir stein for $62 per person or buffet only for $47 per person. Reservations are required. Ghost Tours return and the haunted stories won’t disappoint you! Board our trolley (if you dare) at 6 or 8pm on Friday, Saturday or Sunday in October and experience a night-time tour of the Starved Rock area with spirited guides to lead your way! Reservations are required. Tickets are still available for the Lodge’s annual Leinenkugel Dinner on Friday, November 10 in the Great Hall. Everything on the menu is made with Leinenkugel beer! PowerFit Yoga’s Matt Hancock will lead a “Yoga & Hike” event on November 5th which features a 75-minute yoga class and a 3-mile (round-trip) hike to scenic St. Louis Canyon. Reservations are required.
