Starved Rock State Park and Starved Rock Lodge are open. Although the Lodge is privately managed, guests and employees of the Lodge must wear face masks in all (indoor) public areas, maintain social distancing of 6-feet and comply with all state regulations. Enjoy limited indoor dining, outdoor dining on the Veranda or place a carry-out order. The Starved Rock Cafe and Trailheads Concessions are also open daily for food, drinks, ice cream and more.

Tucked away in North Central Illinois is beautiful Starved Rock State Park and neighboring Matthiessen State Park and Buffalo Rock State Park. Hike to seasonal waterfalls and sandstone canyons or explore the Illinois River by boat. Discover a remote haven filled with tranquility, natural beauty and endless outdoor adventure. Please maintain social distancing of 6-feet when you meet someone on the trail who is not in your small group.

  • Guided Hikes

    Starved Rock Lodge now offers “Take a Hike & Lunch” every Saturday & Sunday. Check in at 10:45am in the hotel lobby to meet the guide and get your lunch. Hike departs at 11am and goes to Wildcat Canyon, Eagle Cliff and Lover’s Leap and will return around 1:30pm. To ensure social distancing while eating, hikers will have lunch at Fox Ridge. Lunch includes: choice of ham, turkey or veggie wrap, piece of fruit, bags of chip, snack and bottle of water. Cost is $20 per person. To make a reservation, contact the Front Desk or call (815) 220-7386. Hikers should wear a mask and practice social distancing when within 6′ of other hikers.
