This two day, one night kayak trip offers a wonderful way to experience the natural beauty of Starved Rock State Park and the Illinois River. The adventure begins when you board a trolley from the Lodge to Lone Point Shelter where you will get in a kayak to see what the hikers can’t see. Majestic St. Peter Sandstone bluffs towering over the Illinois River to the canyons carved out deep along the shoreline. We will be on the water for about 3.5 hours and hopefully see a wonderful sunset that only Starved Rock can offer. Arrive back at the Lodge for dinner in the dining room (included.)
Day two will begin with breakfast in the Main Dining Room (included). The trolley will take you to the Starved Rock boat ramp where you will get in a kayak and explore the Illinois River to the west of Starved Rock. We will pull over for lunch (included) and finish the day around 3pm. We will be on the water for about 5 hours. Included will be kayaks, life jackets, paddles, transportation and instruction. Please bring any snacks and bottles of water you may need. Water shoes are a must (no flip flops.) Boats will be very stable two-person kayaks.
Overnight stay is required on June 3. For more information and to book, please call (815) 220-7386.
