November 8, 2018-(Oglesby, IL) – A check for $2,000 was presented to Relay for Life/American Cancer Society and a check for $1,157 was given to the Pink Ribbon Club of the Illinois Valley as a result of October fundraising efforts at Starved Rock Lodge & Conference Center. On October 14th, Hike for a Cure took place on the Starved Rock Lodge Veranda. Participants made a donation and hiked to the top of Starved Rock in support of a cure for breast cancer. The event also included raffle prizes. Throughout the month, Lodge employees donated every Friday when they were allowed to wear jeans as part of the “Jeans for a Cause” program. Hike for a Cure will take place again in 2019 on the morning of Angel of Hopefest in downtown Utica.
