Walking in a winter wonderland

Discover the winter beauty at Starved Rock State Park on a guided hike. These hikes run on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 1pm. Hikes are approximately 3 miles roundtrip. For more information, please call the Activities Department at (815) 220-7386 or click a specific date below to register online.

Event Series Guided Winter Hike

Join us for a guided hike with the possibility of frozen waterfalls & Eagles. Participants meet in the hotel lobby of the Lodge to pick up a snack and a “Starved Rock” backpack. The tour concludes at the Lodge about 1:00 pm. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear proper footwear. In the event of ice and snow, we advise Yaktrax for extra traction. Hike will be about 3 miles round trip. Remember to bring your binoculars and cameras....
