Historic Wildlife Expedition

Join us for a narrated trolley ride to see our local wildlife in their natural habitat! Tour will depart from the Lodge and take you on a tour through Buffalo Rock State Park to see the bison and to the IL Waterway Visitors Center to spot many forms of waterfowls! Trolley is narrated with history and legends. Guests will receive a sack lunch upon boarding the trolley. Lunch will include choice of veggie or turkey wrap, bag of chips, granola...

Whiskey Dinner

Join Starved Rock Lodge and Barrel Society as we team up for a Whiskey Dinner! The dinner will consist of a whiskey adventure with a 4-course served meal featuring Southern Style Cuisine and exclusive whiskey tasting curated by Barrel Society Proprietor and Guest Speaker, Nick Gorogianis. Menu created by Executive Chef Charlie Klinefelter and Pastry Chef Emily Kaufman. Must be 21 years of age to attend.Click here to view the menu.

Guided Winter Hike

Event Series Guided Winter Hike

Join us for a guided hike with the possibility of frozen waterfalls & Eagles. Participants meet in the hotel lobby of the Lodge to pick up a snack and a “Starved Rock” backpack. The tour concludes at the Lodge about 1:00 pm. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear proper footwear. In the event of ice and snow, we advise Yaktrax for extra traction. Hike will be about 3 miles round trip. Remember to bring your binoculars and cameras....

Spring Guided Hike

Join us for a hike to Wildcat Canyon to see the beauties of Spring! Hike will be about 3 miles round trip. Participants will receive a Starved Rock backpack with a bottle of water, a snack and a voucher for hot chocolate or coffee upon return.

Bunny Bash

Come get in the Easter Spirit with our Bunny Bash! Breakfast will be served from 9:30-10:30 am. There will also be Easter Crafts, an Egg Hunt and a visit with the Easter Bunny! Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, fruit, waffle station, milk, orange juice, and coffee. Advanced reservations are required as space is limited. Listen as the guide tells stories of how Starved Rock got its name along with other legends of the area. Break for lunch at the halfway point. Lunch includes your choice of turkey, ham or veggie wrap, snacks and bottled water. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Hike will vary upon group skill and trail conditions. *Boxed lunch and souvenir drawstring backpack included.
